Hello all - I am a brand new owner of a brand new 2025 Tab 400, thank you to all on this forum for such wealth of information!

I've discovered that the actual dry weight of my boondock black canyon Tab 400 is ~3077 lb (listed on certificate of origin, and back-calculated using weight carrying capacity sticker on tongue) whereas the NuCamp website states 2946 lb (which I understand is only an estimate). Are there typically such large variances in expected and actual dry weights? I have the convenience package but not the lithium upgrade, but I can't imagine the convenience package adding 100lb (is this due to addition of microwave & spare tire)? What would that mean to tongue weight (listed is 380 lb)?

I am yet to take the camper to a CAT scale but wanted to hear of others' experiences on actual vs listed dry weights. Thank you!

(posting this in Trailers & Towing since our TV is Subaru Ascent, we are well within the tow capacity of 5k, but need to measure CAT scales to ensure tongue weight limit compliance as well)

Nucamp states this on their website: “Dry weight is the weight of the camper with standard equipment, excluding; propane, tank fluids, cargo, and optional equipment. All weights, capacities, and dimensions are approximate.”

@elbolillo yes but I'm curious what non standard equipment weight is included on certificate of origin? I am sure "shipping weight" can't be including tank fluids and propane"... 100lb variance seems excessive to me. I'm curious what others "shipping weight" or unloaded weight sticker says and how much higher it is vs listed weight on website :)

A full propane tank weights 35-40 pounds, so there's part of it (which would add to tongue weight too).  Also, I have seen some legacy info (pictures, etc.) hang around on the individual Nucamp product pages, so perhaps the 2946 number just hasn't been updated.  Keeping in mind that you'll be filling up that front storage bin and likely adding stuff to the front area of the camper, tongue weight is something to keep an eye on with the Ascent having a max of 500 lbs.

I bought a 550lb digital scale and the tongue weight came out at 450lb. This is significantly higher than what I was expecting but oh well.

2025 Tab 400 boondock with black canyon. Includes microwave and boondock spare tire. Camper mostly loaded for trip with everything we would need in there except -
    No food in refrigerator
No water in tanks (assuming fresh water tank will take some weight off the tongue)

Wanted to share this in case helpful to anyone

@aditto - Are you saying the 450 was with everything loaded for your trip, or dry?  If you have propane in the front container-- and other stuff for your trip up there, it doesn't really seem off-- unless I'm missing something.  If Nucamp has it listed at 380 and you add propane and other gear up there, that would easily make up for the 70 pound diffference (assuming you aren't countering any of that tongue weight with other weight behind the wheels (fridge, etc.).
