Wondering if Mice can nest in the floor

Looking at a used 320 CS-S and there is some mouse damage inside a cupboard and when checking mouse poo all around all of the wires and tubing under all the benches. Was wondering if they. Could nest in a floor space ? and cause damage I can’t see? All wires apppear intact , just wonder what I can’t see?
