Alde Outdoor Temperature Sensor installed

If anyone is interested I went ahead and ordered the stock Alde Outdoor Temperature Sensor on eBay UK from an RV parts supplier. It was $38 with all the fees etc. it took about two weeks to be delivered.

I wasn’t sure where I was going to pass the wire through to the outside but while searching my 2023 T@b 320s I was pleasantly surprised to find there is a ready made pass through right next to the Alde system. It’s a rubber grommet with 4 pass through holes. Two are being used as drains and two have small removable rubber plugs. The temperature sensor cable fit perfectly, it was an easy install.

I picked a location that seemed like there would be no direct sunlight or heat sources that would interfere with the temperature reading. I mounted the sensor under the floor of the nautilus cabinet next to the frame with double sided tape and two self tapping screws. I coiled the extra cable and left it inside the Alde system under the electronics access panel just in case I want to relocate the sensor.

Turned on the Alde system and now I have an outdoor temperature reading under the inside temperature.

I also added this sensor last year. I was a little surprised to see on the SmartShunt that it constantly draws a little current which makes sense. Once installed, it can pretty easily be disconnected at the Alde circuit board it you're not comfortable with one more parasitic power draw when you aren't actually out camping.
