Tab 360 BD Kitchenette Sink & Stove - New Cutting Board

Hello everyone. We wanted a cutting board that would integrate with our sink/stove configuration. So we customized a cutting board bought on Amazon. Our sink/stove arrangement has a glass cover that hinges at the back to cover this area or tilt back when using the sink or stove. The glass panel when tilted back does provide some splash protection for the shades in the front window. Water or grease is a risk when using these appliances. So, we were reluctant to remove the glass panel and as an added protection for the glass panel we bought a silicone drying mat to set on the glass top when closed. We bought a .75”x14”x20” bamboo cutting to be altered. We used foam board to verify dimensions and proof of concept. Settled on a simple cutout “notch” to clear the hinges and allow the board to rest on the small “bumps” formed into the sink at the corners and middle of the sink. The cutting board only covers half of the sink/stove area and so we can move the board over the sink or stove as desired. We settled on a finished dimension of 14” wide. The other dimension and corner radius match the sink of course. The hinges are not precisely symmetrical and so we adjusted the width of the cutout to allow the board to clear either hinge and fit on the left or right side. After cutting the board to size with a clearance notch for the hinge, we rounded all of the edges with a 1/4” round over bit. Finally; a lite hand sanding all over followed by two light coats of mineral oil on all the board surfaces to complete the project. Oh, Use Caution when working with bamboo: the splinters can be needle sharp.
In use we found placing the silicone mat on top of the board and sliding the board to the far right thus sitting “proud” on the edge of the stove we had a drain board for our dishes too. As an added bonus the small scrap piece left over: we finished also and use as a small extra cutting board.
We hope y’all find this helpful, cheers!

@Muthaship1 that's a really nice solution for using that space to the max. Great pictures,.too!

Did you ever think of making and selling them? I love my 360 but find this set up the least thought through idea.

Incredible ingenuity and manufacturing. I agree. You should consider selling these and sell them at some outrageous price because you would deserve It. People would be more than happy to pay.2019 Custom T@B 320 U Boondock Lite-ish

@Muthaship1: That looks great. In the 7th picture the board appears tilted as it rests on the burner grates. Do you think the board/cover would lay flat if you routed some "X" shaped recesses into the underside, for the grates to nestle in?
