Fan-Tastic Vent Fan Cover Lock

My recently acquired 2022 320S has the standard Fan-Tastic Vent Fan.  Although not shown in the vendor manual, it has a cover lock feature as shown in the pics.  The associated locking lever/knob appears to be missing.  Has anyone come across this and is it something to worry about?  The manual lift knob is working fine.  Just wondering if the lock is needed for highway driving.  Thanks in advance.
