Electronic sway contro

Anybody use electronic sway control like Curt True Course, Tuson anti sway, other?  If so what’s your experience, likes, dislikes? Looking at options for towing 360cs other than friction bar etc.

I mounted the Tucson electronic sway control on our 2018 400.  We have towed with a both a Grand Cherokee and a 4-door Wrangler.  The 2018 was a lighter than the current 400.

In a total of over a year on the road, we have never had any problems with sway.  I really don't know if that is because of the controller or the fact that we set a target of 62 MPH except when passing.

So, for us it is working great.

    As an aside:

Towing is a double oscillator problem in classical mechanics. It still can't be reasonably modeled. As the internet says "a classic example of deterministic chaos."

There are really only two ways to manage sway:
         1. Damp the oscillators
Buy a big tow rig for more mass or install anti-sway
         2. Control the energy
                 Drive a bit more slowly

Towing with a bigger rig will damp the sway for the tow vehicle, but if you tow too fast with a bigger rig, the energy ends up in the camper which is hard on it.

A lot of modern vehicles have electronic trailer sway control which uses the acceleration sensors that are part of the electronic stability control. No idea how good it works but it might be worthwhile to see if you ever feel any sway building up before spending a lot of money.

Electronic sway control corrects sway after it has been detected. Friction sway control reduces the chances of it starting to begin with. Having both would be ideal, but since our old Jeep doesn't have the electronic version, a friction bar gives some peace of mind from the unexpected.
