The Vevor solar suitcase looks like it would nice and light. The thing about solar suitcases is that if it doesn’t come with a controller attached to it what do you need to buy and where does it attach. The heavy Zamp that I have is a plug and play. The controller is connected to it. I would like to purchase a lighter one like the Vevor. The Vevor is a good price at Home Depot. Just confused on the controller.

When I listed things for a solar upgrade I forgot to mention the controller. I installed a Victron controller in the tub on our T@B. That included putting an SAE port on the side of the tub. Our Renogy 100W suitcase was purchased without a controller same as the Vevor. The reason for this is that there's voltage drop between the controller and battery. It's best to keep the controller as close as possible to the battery to avoid the drop. The 75/15 controller is now on Amazon for $67.

I have an SAE port for Zamp on the outside side of my tub. I think I would need an adapter to plug in a different solar panel. So, does the controller get connected on the outside side of the tub and then the wire to the solar panel, then the solar panel? I had heard that the controller would work better close to the battery, but I didn’t understand how to do it! I think that I am start to understand it. Let me know if I am not really understanding.

Correction: I am starting to see how the controller would be in the tub, not on the outside. It is a learning process for me, but I am getting there.
