Cutting a mattress

We have a mattress insider mattress in our 329-css. We love the mattress but are thinking we would like to sleep front to back with separate beds. We have figured out the support to make the passenger side longer and my wife is short so the driver side will work.
the question is has anyone cut a mattress insider mattress and what should we consider before we take an electric knife to it?

Thank you

Haven't had any experience with that brand, but do some research before you try since some mattresses are contain some kind of material that will cause irritation or serious health problems (fiberglass?) if you cut into them.  I did cut my memory foam mattress down several inches so it would fit east-west in the trailer, but it was just the old fashioned foam-rubber type of mattress and wasn't encased in anything.

We cut our mattress insider mattress to fit our 400. No issues with it. Fairly easy to do, if you have the sewing materials and machine to stitch it back up.
