Water Intrusion Tab400
We have water intrusion in our 2022 Tab400 Boondock. It is appearing in the compartment housing the Alde & Nautilus systems. None of the fittings appear yo be leaking. It is evidenced along the seam of the wall and the floor along the entire outside wall the the compartment. I removed part of the vinyl floor covering to get a better look at the migration under the floor vinyl. A NuCamp tech who saw it suggested it could entering via the exterior drain hole in the Nautilus compartment in the outside wall of the Tab. I going to remove the plastic sleeve in the hole and silicone seal the interior surface of the opening that cuts thru the floor of the Nautilus compartment. Tech suggested water might be getting into that opening and migrating between the layer of flooring finding it's way into the compartment along the seam of wall and floor inside. I'm still at a loss about what is the source of the intrusion.

With water in the fresh water tank, have you used the pump to pressurize the system, until the pump shuts off, left it over night, then checked to see that the pressure held in the morning (the pump stayed off)? If the system doesn’t hold pressure it is probably leaking. Have you looked for water on both sides of the pan the Alde sits in? The water tank might leak. Have you checked all exterior seals outside, on the side, especially around the Alde propane exhaust and the bottom trailer seal? Did you check closely around the mixing valve?

I went looked over the situation with my local nuCamp shop and we were unable to locate a source. When a tech from nuCamp in Ohio was in the shop on some other business on a day I happened to there I talked with him about it. He said there was unit in Florida he worked on that had a similar problem that was resolved by sealing up the inner circumference of the wall of Nautilus exterior drain that cuts through the bottom floor of the exterior Nautilus compartment. He also said seal the plastic flange at the top of the sleeve but do not seal the underside of the plastic sleeve as it exits under the trailer. He said any water that seep in between the outer wall of the sleeve drain opening in the floor of the exterior compartment and can't drain out, can seep under the plastic covering of the floor of the nautilus compartment and move into the inside of the trailer in the Alde compartment. I guess I'll find out if this solves the problem. I'll be doing that this week and hope that has ben the problem. Btw: Thanks for your suggestions. I will once again double check on the possible causes you listed.

I put a couple of water detection sensors in that compartment, one ‘smart’ one and one that just makes noise. I am looking to put some near the dometic heat pump because I keep getting condensation there

Good idea, I'll give that a try. 🙂

I had a similar mysterious water leak. Water was puddling in the locker space behind the Nautilus system. Turned out to be a badly installed FW vent on top of the water tank that flowed out when filling the tank or traveling with full tank. Fixed by properly installing vent.

Thanks, I'll check that out. The "locker space"? … do you mean the storage area directly under center of the bed or do you mean the area where the Alde & Nautilus connections are?

The area where the Alde & Nautilus connections are. It’s easy to pull the cabinet below the refrigerator out and inspect FW tank connections.

I have a 2022 tab400 Boondock…my frig is on the same side as the stove under the counter. If you have the newer set up the frig is on the side that the bathroom is on? If so, I have a storage closet with a deep drawer underneath the closet and then an open storage bin under the closet. Not sure if that would where my fresh water tank connections are? I may have to check with NUCamp Tech support.
