A bunch of upgrades to my TAB 360

It has been over a year since I bought my new 360, and it had all kinds of things that I didn't like. My previous TAB320 boondock had been all-worked-out, and now I am starting over.

SOLAR UPGRADE

In other threads I describe my solar journey, so here I will keep it shorter. After experiencing the poor performance of the factory solar panels, I resolved to replace them. It took me SIX months to get my dealer to make the change. They were really bent out of shape that I left the camper at their location until they replaced the old ones. In their place I have put four Bouge RV Arch Pro 100s. These have more bus bars and bypass diodes that improve performance greatly.

Unfortunately, they needed to place two ugly covers on the holes left by the previous solar panel wiring. I will try to find something that looks a bit smarter.

They work far better than the old ones.

SOLAR SUITCASE

I combined two 200 watt solar suitcases from Renogy with a Victron solar controller. I am still trying to get this straightened out.

BATHROOM FAUCET UPGRADE

The one from the factory had a bad on-off switch for taking navy showers. It also was difficult to align to straight. I found a marine shower head/faucet combo that is much better. It is from Ambassador Marine and was fairly easy to install.

MATTRESS UPGRADE

The mattresses aren't very comfy, particularly on the passenger side. I had these 2 inch memory foam mattresses made, and they are amazing.

FIRE EXTINGUISHER

The fire extinguisher rattled every time I closed the door. It drove me crazy and made the door seem cheap and flimsy. I bought a velcro extinguisher holder that is designed for Jeep rollbars. I cut off half of it and screwed it into the door beneath the existing hanger.

It's starting to take shape. I still need to…

  • replace the jack with the Topwind Ultimate Trailer Jack that improves clearance at the hitch
  • add a shower handle.

Now if someone can tell me how to get the radio to stay OFF, I would be very happy

    One more thing I forgot.

    CEILING FAN

The original was loud, didn't have a remote control, and lacked many useful features like a thermostat.

@Trailpixie Great call on the MaxxAir fan. It looks like the one you can leave open as you journey down the HWY . I love the fact that it has two arms , one on either side of the lid. It does not allow one side to lift and eventually rip off with a strong cross wind. Remote control even better!. Is your black water tank only 5 gallons? Considering how big the Grey water tank is 17 gal per the spec sheet on the NuCamp web site. Great call on the custom Memory foam mattress. I bought a topper for mine and will try it out first then if I don't like will try a custom built one. Do you have the Battle born 270 amp battery ?
