That sounds good but the white wires go into the junction box then to the bus behind the converter. I don’t see how to figure what is what.

HELP! This was my biggest fear. I have killed all power to the camper and have to use it in a couple days cross-country.

I opened the junction box. Voltage about 1 volt below what the batteries showed directly. Voltage in camper two volts lower than that.

I tested voltage between the two points Grumpy_G said. 12.68 or so volts. I then jiggled the wires he said. The second post and its wires are loose from the back. The others all seem secure to the box backing. HOW DO I RESECURE the second post?

    Or is something broken?

I did try tightening the bolt with a ratchet wrench but it never stopped turn.

I at least need to get back to where I was!!!

The nut on the second from right bolt will neither loosen nor tighten. And the whole set is definitely not secured to the backing.

That nut is not perpendicular to the bolt. I assume NuCamp won't take responsibility for that poor work when they built my camper but I know 100% no one has touched the junction box of the camper before I opened it a few days ago.

Did you turn off the battery with the switch before poking around in the junction box ? If not you might have blown the battery fuse.

The post is likely spinning in the plastic housing, power tools during assembly. A (non-RV) trailer repair place could probably replace the junction box fairly quickly or at least do a temporary repair.

I followed your steps in order—leaving it on to check voltage, but off when I tried screwing/unscrewing.

I will go check the fuses however—good point.

Thanks for the idea of a non-RV place. I have one a couple hours away so I'll give them a call Monday.

This is unreal! I'm holding my breath to see if it holds. I DID turn off the battery before trying to wrench the nut but I did something. One of the two fuses at the battery was blown!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hurray! But here's the more unreal news, what I'm holding my breath on…

The camper voltage (on my little 12v plug-in device) shows 13.3 (sun is just off the panels). Batteries show 13.19! Different testing meters, so basically the same!

All I can figure is by toying around with that second post and connectors in the junction box I reestablished the connection. If so, the question is will it stay stable as long as I don't open the junction box again?

Good ! You found the likely problem. From your description it sounds they cross threaded the nut during assembly and then spun the post in the plastic housing.

This might hold but also it might not, I would try to clean this up. If you feel comfortable try wedging some needle nose pliers underneath the eyelets maybe you can grab the bottom of the post (battery off of course). Then undo/correctly redo the nut. Wrap some electrical tape around the post and eyelets so if they move they can't cause a short.
