Water Leaking In

I have a new 2015 T@B CS S and It has water coming through the outside A/C vent. The dealer said the screen should stop all water from entering. As an engineer I have great difficulty believing this tale since I live in Washington State and it sometimes rains sideways and driving down the road that opening acts like a sponge. Anyone have a great idea for a cover?

    Number 1, you do need to be almost perfectly level, but maybe just a bit lower on the A/C side.

    And you can call Elsie at Pleasant Valley to check the price of a snap-on cover A/C cover for those driving rains.

    1philp - You're talking rain water - Not condensation from the AC unit ...Correct?
    Verna covers both - Some people have installed covers on both the AC vent as well as the fridge vent on the opposite side. I've been on the road for 11 months with 3-weeks of heavy rain and haven't had a problem though.

    I am assuming that this is rain water coming in NOT water generated by the air conditioner itself.  If it is rainwater coming in I made a cover our of plexiglas and sealed it with some foam weather seal tape around the edge.  I attach it with strong rare earth magnets that attach to washers I glued on to the white grill.  When it is really windy or raining/showing sideways I put the cover on.  I have yet to attempt to travel with it on.  The magnets hold it in place well in 40-50 mph winds but I don't know about freeway speeds.  I guess an alternative method would be to glue a bolt to the grill and drill holes that line up in the plexiglass then use wing nuts to attach.  Some of the older dutchman tabs had snap on covers.

    If it is air conditioner generated water there is a drain for that. On ours we would need to be tipped slightly nose and door down.

    The water should drain out the AC drain in either case. Even sideways rain would collect in the tray and drain out the drain tube.

    Maybe the tube is plugged. Others have found sawdust in there from the manufacturing process. 

    Talk to Pleasant Valley / Little Guy to see what they recommend to determine if the drain tube might be plugged.

    If it's really pouring and blowing I guess I could see it overflowing the drain pan.

    I sent a note on to the factory regarding this issue and will post up any information received.  I'm sure that they are aware of the issue and will look into it and resolve it if they can.  Maybe this is something the A/C manufacturer isn't aware of, but could resolve via an engineering redesign of the grill fins (maybe lengthen them, etc.) similarly as the Aeroflo vent covers keep rain from coming in the roof vent?
