Water Pump Problem

My water pump sounds like a machine gun! The pvc pipes in the shower wall bang like they are trapped drummers. I saw a picture of a similar pump here that shows flexible hose going in and out. Mine (2014 T@B S) has the same flexible hose at the inlet but has solid pvc on the outlet side and coming out under that small lavatory. I wonder why it's not all flexible water line. That kind of rattling in time would certainly create a leak I'd think. Could there be trapped air in it somehow?

Mine makes a racket for awhile every time I run my freshwater low and refill it.

I thought mine could be heard for miles around but I went outside and could barely hear it - Really surprised me.

I've only had the T@B a few weeks and yet to make our first outing. Planned for this coming week. What I've been doing is learning all about its systems. This is how I've discovered the "rock and roll" water pump. I expect to be at a full service camp this first time out so no pump needed but going "boonie" a bit sometime in the future is on my list. Especially seeing how more reasonable solar is becoming. I've seen on Amazon Prime a 100 watt full equipped system with controller and all for $170 bucks! Currently out of stock though.

We only had our T@B a few weeks and had the water pump replaced (per Ed K...many were faulty). Also had some common sense plumbing redone to minimize cavitation and hammer.

Our dealer re-routed the inlet lines slightly, put in some flex lines, and added padding...plus replaced the pump...stuff any food plumber would know how to do.

It's a blessing when things just "fix themselves" but that's what happened with two concerns I've had with my T@B. First, the furnace that was setting off the smoke alarm now runs sweet. No odor at all and heats fast and great. Second the "machine gun" water pump smoothed out and functions as it should. May I say, "Happy camper here" !

Good deal. As mentioned above, my pump makes that sound when I let the tank run low.

Also, the smoke alarm is seems to be extremely sensitive. Maybe that's a good thing? I found a plastic bowl cover with an elastic band that fits over it perfectly. I cover it up when cooking, etc., and try my best to remember to take it back off.

Speaking of which, have you seen those new "T@B" sized smoke alarms at Lowe's? About the diameter of a drinking glass. Reminds me of the cap from a can of spray paint. Might have to get me one. ;-)

RZRBUG - I first tried a cover but now just take the battery out when cooking.

The water pump will also be noisy if the filter screen needs cleaning, it is located inside the pump. Screw off the cap to get to it.

So, you're saying there is a filter inside the pump itself besides the in-line one right beside it? I took that one off and discovered some small PVC shavings that I assume were from plumbing installation, but not dirty otherwise.

Larry- it is an inline filter directly attached to the pump, sorry if I was confusing. There was a conversation at last Tearstock, no one knew it was there. The first time I checked it had PVC shavings, and on subsequent checks did find some stuff to clean out.

I didn't realize it was there either. Put it on my regular maintenance check list.
