Wonder if anyone has come up with a good idea for protecting the screen door against impatient paws??

Maybe get a gate or use a folded Ex-pen in front of inside to provide separation? (would work for a smaller dog.

Probably going to need something he/she can't get paws through - Maybe a sheet of plexiglass.

It takes very little effort for even little paws to stress the screens and screen door. I think Rocky was more curious than anything, but he could easily go right through. Realizing this could make him easy bear bait if left unattended with open windows.

We camp with two Labs so I made a small gate out of some plywood scraps and dowels. The plywood is thick enough to fit between the fire extinguisher and the screen frame. So far it has worked well to keep them from making a quick exit!

I use a piece leftover from my larger dog's wire crate (meant to divide the crate while a puppy is very small and young) . It is just right to prop across the doorway with or without the screen. I plan to put a little Velcro loop up as insurance. It weighs nothing AND was free!Cathy and traveling canines,
