Norcold Smell on Gas

I tried the fridge on propane for the first time today. Is the burning plastic smell normal? Sort of like the first time you turn on your gas furnace each fall.

  I never smelled it but others have reported the same and I think the general consensus was new smell - Should go away, if it doesn't I have it checked.
