bed/seating modification for clamshell

If you are one of many that can't stand that table you can change the seating by cutting the back cushions.  I got some 4" foam at Walmart to add padding for the bed and also provide a back rest when it's rolled up.  You can see how easy it is to convert to the bed, I just leave the bedclothes rolled up with it.  I will get some material to cover the roll and upholster the two pieces that were cut off. I have even found the same material as the throw pillow!  Can't wait to finish it!
 
I had to velcro the fabric, over the bed roll, to the underside of the cabinets so it will stay put in transit.

    That is a very good set up.  I did something similar, but removed the original cushions in case I ever sell the unit, it could be put back together.  I bought a single 8 inch memory foam mattress from Walmart.  Then covered two pieces of foam with material for seats.
    This is the outcome.

    Im liking that!  I have a bed buddy though and need the full queen bed. I can convert it back...there will just be four back cushions instead of the two long ones.

    Although still a work in progress, here's my interior with the split cushions. If solo, nice there's still a seating area with bed made up.

    I have a Dutchmen Clamshell and the cushions were already split. I often only make up the back half of the bed with memory foam and leave the front cushions in place.

    That is what I do with our Q when it is just me.  Nice to have both a place to sleep and a place to sit.

    States the T@Bpole has camped, so far ;)

    Hi tabhappy... We just got our new 2020 CS S last weekend and I want to make it into a U like yours... What did you use for those 2 cushions in the middle, L x W x H  ?  :blush::bow:

    My T@B came with four long cushions, two seat and two backrest cushions. We cut the two backrest ones into four and had them recovered. Hope that answered your question 🙂
