Where to stay near rt 85 and 77 in NC

Going up to Mass & this is the only area I have not yet decided where to stay. Any help? Thanks Art

Last time in that area we stayed at a KOA on 77 south of Statesville. OK for an overnight stop, friendly, right off the highway.
Don't know how you plan to get to Mass, but I recommend going up 77 to 81, and taking that north to 84. It is a longer drive but a nice one with less traffic and far less in tolls.

If you mean I-77, Pilot Mountain State Park is a great place to stop and visit - if you're going up via Winston-Salem it's off US52 on way up to 74 and 77.
