Carpet Outside T@B
1. Where do you store it when towing?
2. Does it get gross and wet and where do you store when gross and wet? GA has muddy clay everywhere.
3. Do you recommend a certain type of carpeting or can suggest where you bought yours?

I got a case for mine, is a bit of a pain to put in case but then no mess inside trailer. I am keeping it inside the showerThe Mouse house and me

I have one and it is great for helping to keep the interior of the T@b cleaner. I used a military style duffle bag this year, but it is too big and heavy and have a smaller one from CW waiting to be used next year. I try my best to keep the bag clean so that even if I have to pick up the mat in yucky weather, the T@b stays clean. It is usually on the floor of the T@b while I travel (I don't have the table inside of the T@b.)
If I am staying for one night only, I generally don't bother with it. I am going to look for the same one in a smaller size. The one I got is pretty big and it is pretty much just me.

We tried a outdoor rug from WalMart, for a while, but you have to roll it up for storage, and when it gets wet it's a mess. While shopping at a Camping World we came across a woven plastic rug that when not in use folds up. It's a nice size. It's lightweight, stays nice, is easy to clean, and easy to store.

Although I haven't used it yet, I also got a woven plastic rug from www.outdoorrugsonly.com. It is lightweight, came in the color I wanted (aqua to match my upcoming T@B) and came in a nice burlap-type carrying bag with a handle. Hopefully will work and clean up easily.

Yes, the plastic woven kind are the ones to go with, for sure. They dry quicker and dirt and sand go, right through them.

Yup, the woven plastic ones allow the water to pass through them and dry more quickly. They are great for helping keep the interior of the T@B clean, but can be a mess themselves. I store mine in my TV and don't really have a problem.

I wouldn't use any kind but the plastic. They're lightweight, easy to clean, and dry quickly. Sand and small rocks go through, and you can shake them clean, or brush with a broom. If it's muddy, or there are damp leaves on the ground, I pull it on the picnic table and brush it with the broom. I roll it, use the attached tie, and store it in the T@B. I buy mine at World Market for under $40. My first one lasted five seasons.Crystal & Daisy, a yellow 2007 T@B Q previously towed by a 2008 Jeep Liberty, and currently towed by a 2016 RAM 1500.

We like the feel of grass under our bare feet. We have a 6'x8' piece of artificial grass. We roll it up and carry it on rack I built that mounts on the front push pull handles.

What is the device attached to the handles? Nice!

We use one from Camping world, they are synthetic and come in different sizes and colors and don't cost much. We only use it when the rig is parked on a less than desirable surface like gravel. Our TV is a truck with a locking waterproof tonneau cover so storage is not an issue.

Very cool, I like this solution.dalehelman said:We like the feel of grass under our bare feet. We have a 6'x8' piece of artificial grass. We roll it up and carry it on rack I built that mounts on the front push pull handles.

We use two artificial grass rugs from C.W. We just fold them up and put them in a large trash bag. If they are wet, no problem. When we get home, just hang them up, hose them off and let them dry, then back in the trailer. The HobbiT@B, 2015-L, towed by a2014 RAM C/V

I also use the plastic woven rugs. My 9x18 still has a decent carrying case, my 9x12 I just roll up and secure with bungies. I have a truck bed and the wet and grungy goes in the truck bed.
When I get home they get spread out on the driveway, hosed down and then put up dry.Carol

Anyone using a sand-free mat as their carpet? http://www.cgear-sandfree.com/
Originally developed as a helicopter landing mat for the military -- which got me thinking.

I did feel my Outback had a vague resemblance to NASA's Lunar Excursion Module. Probably about the same amount of room, too...TabberJohn said:

We ended up getting a rooftop carrier for the TV. We keep all the outdoor stuff (chairs, mats, water hose, etc. anything that can get wet or muddy) in the carrier. Keeps it out of the T@B and the TV. If needed, easily hosed out at the end of the trip when we take it off to store it.Nathan & Patty -Toyota 4-Runner - 2015 T@B Max Q

After reading many posts, I just ordered Fab Habitat Cancun Indoor/Outdoor Rug, Multicolor, (5' x 8') https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00795X7UY/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apip_eBrv6vm3M9bTg
from Amazon! It comes with a carrying case too. Everyone seemed to love it. Easy to clean too. Plan to use it soon in the PNW (Pacific Northwest) with our Sofitel 'Dorothy'! -

I bought a woven carpet from Camping World and broke it in on the last trip. Lots of rain, puddles, floating forest stuff went through it. Brought it home, hosed it off well and let it dry over chairs and it looks almost like brand new!
