The Pneumatic Gas Springs that hold the back door open on the cs model?

Can they be switched out to a longer model or realigned so as to hold the hatch door higher while open?
You know? ...for a tall person to stand under without stooping. Just curious if anyone has tackled this.

I believe the factory uses 80# struts on their hatches and I sent them a note to see if they can help out with your question. I will post up any info received back.Mike - Elmira, Mi / 2019 T@B 400 / 2021 Chevy Silverado LTZ

At 6'3 I have no issue when I park on leveler blocks... lifts the trailer... cheaper than raising the hatch... just have to manage when you level the trailer ... using Anderson levelers should also lift the back ... not a fan of increasing the torque and forces on the supports by incresing the lift angle...the hatch is fairly heavy... u could remove them and use a pole for full lift as an experiment on how much more length you need
