Darn I lost my key for european lock

My 2007 T@B has a european code from Florence (Firenze) and I've lost the key. The whole door assembly is odd as the handle has to be pulled as the key hole is covered with your thumb. Anyone out there have a S I M P L E fix for this or do I need to have the whole assembly replaced by a locksmith?

Since I lost my Key to my 2007 T@B, and have a replacement latch coming from nucamprv I was wondering how your story ended. Were you able to successfully replace your latch? how did you do it?
