A grand adventure in Colorado!

I've always been adventurous, but having Kendrick along has pushed the limits of what even I thought I would ever do in the mountains!

Last week he decided he wanted to attempt a route through Colorado that was 120 miles long, connecting 15 peaks that are over 14,000 feet in elevation, and 55k feet of ascent. I know, he's crazy!! To make this possible he was going to need some support (me) to meet him along the way. A SAG wagon if you will. Meeting him every 5-6 hours for over 3 days was exhausting, but I was SO thankful to be able to bring my home with me to most of the meeting locations. I got to camp in and see some beautiful areas I otherwise would not have visited. That's what experiences are about right?

Here are a couple photos. One of one of my brief camp spots in the early fall. The other is a location I hiked in to give him some food, water, and a foot rub!

Kendrick ended up making it 100 miles, over 10 peaks, before a snow storm and exhaustion was the final straw.

    Thanks for allowing a glimpse of what used to be. We are on the down side of our physical adventures, but is still exhilarating to vicariously experience some of those joys and struggles. Making memories that will be with you for your lifetimes. Beautiful and priceless.

    Yes...the ol days of peak bagging...in the Sangres & the collegiate peaks!  :s Soon I'll be back but no peak bagging any longer. Knees are toast...lol beautiful pics, Mandy. Love life in the hills!

    What a great adventure!  I live in Colorado and split my weekends between rescue photography and camping, but would love to move around full time doing both!  One day...  In the meantime, thanks for letting us live vicariously thru your blog and updates.
