2018 320S With Outback axle and tires...

We have a 2018 320S, when ordering we specified the Outback axle and tires.  The other day I was doing some work on the T@B and wanted to remove one of the tires. I was surprised that unless I jacked it up real high it would have been impossible to get the tire to clear the wheel well.  It appears that the wheel well trim molding over laps the width of the 15” tire.  Anyone else noticed this?  Any thoughts on modifications on the wheel well trim molding?

So I am the only person that has a 320S with the outback/boondock axle that thinks the fender trim is too large (over lapping the tire) for the 15" off road tires, making it hard to take the tire off?

I havent had a need to take it off, so I really hadnt nticed. I'll have to have a look.

Why did you have to take your's off of a 2018 already?

I was looking under the T@B for placement of rear scissors jacks and sitting in front of the wheel noticed, hey this looks like it might be hard to get off if I had a flat.  And it was you have to jack it up a lot higher than for a car tire replacement or you can’t get the tire out past the trim molding.

I just finished putting the Outback axle on our 320S, and observed the interference.  It was easy to deal with though, if perhaps a little counterintuitive.

Taking the tire off, pull the back side of the tire away from the trailer first, then roll the tire back and out.  To install, reverse.

Try it in your driveway first...
