So Frustrated With the A/C

Has anyone found a unit that is quieter and cools better than the Frigidaire brand?  The a/c in my 2015 SMax has a negative impact on my trips and I would really like to switch it out but the reviews for even the newer Frigidaire digitalw/remote are very negative. Thanks.

@robyn769, do a search for “Frigidaire” and you can read how others have changed out the original A/C to a newer model. I’m quite satisfied with my newer model.

You can really only reduce the noise so much in such a small space. The newer model gives you more control but will still seem loud due to the confinement.

In such a small space as we have...is there really going to be something any quieter? I mean the sound of any fan, plus compressor will be “loud”ish... fortunately we have the Alde for silent heat!! Lol

Our 2017 came with a Danby unit (Canadian brand). Seems to work well. Noise level is certainly noticeable in such a small space but cools well.

Do you have the auxiliary intake fan with the separate switch? Also, Dale and others installed outside air registers to prevent the hot exhaust air from mixing with the cool intake air. No matter what you do, they are noisy!

  • Thanks for the comments. I think I will try the newest model of the Frigidaire. Even if its still really too loud at least I don't have to get up and walk all the way over to it to adjust the settings! haha, just joking.  It will be kind of nice though to have the remote so I don't have to get up, hahaha.  Can I be any more lazy?
