COld Water drain valve

Should this valve under the stairs be open or closed for camping? I'm flushing the system and when the pump is on all the water runs out a spout across from the valve....so it's running out under the driver's side.

Hi, that sounds like the fresh water tank low point drain. Only needs to be open when intentionally draining that tank (like during the winterization or sanitization processes)
