I think that the T@B roof won't support the weight. If I needed 12v cooling I'd probably try one of the portable units like a Zero Breeze and put the hoses through a window.1 -

IMO most of the problems you name (bluetooth, streaming, waking up randomly in the middle of the night, hard to dim, etc.) are because people can't be bothered to read the manual.1
