We are New Yorkers. If the trailer you're getting has surge brakes (older T@B) you're good. If it has electric brakes you need a brake controller.2 -

The rails from Elsie are very nicely finished to match the woodwork and have stops to keep the slats in place. Those are worth getting.1 -

I used Verna's tape method and it works great along with the backup camera. Just back up slowly and make adjustments.2
