Perhaps a wind shift explains the first circumstance--despite their aerodynamic appearance T@Bs are kinda' like big sails. Your second scenario sounds like a brake or brake controller adjustment…1 -

@Herg, yes, that switch should be ON when you are camping, towing, or doing anything with your T@B. Turn the switch OFF only when the T@B is parked between trips.2 -

Hard to say with absolute certainty from looking at a photo, but that doesn't look like natural wood discoloration!1
