Actually, if you use the pump system to drain it, it sounds like you need 2.5 gallons. Less if you just drain it thoroughly and add it back in.1 -

Yes @xdr - you can use the Alde to heat the cabin after draining the Alde water tank. As you said, just turn off the hot water at the Alde control panel.1 -
