So far, so good camping with the window awnings. Not using the clips here. Very quick & easy to put up & take down. Great idea @ColleenD2 about using elastic in the pocket hem - that would improve its grip on the bottom edge.

@ColleenD2 if you want a scalloped edge, you could skip the fold up from the bottom edge. Just cut your scalloped edge as desired and hem it.
