From our 6 Apr 2026 stay at the newest Virginia State Park, Machicomoco, on the north shore of the Rappahanock River..  This completes our quest to have camped with our 2017 T@B at all of our Virginia State Parks which have camping for RV's.

Our first multi-night trip was last weekend to Nebraska to see the Sandhill crane migration and visit a Greater Prairie Chicken lek. We camped at Ft. Kearney State Recreation Area. Drop, my wife’s name for the camper, did great and the birds put on quite a show. We had a blast and look forward to many more fun trips.

I grew up in Northern NM and when I see those types of images my enjoyment both Jumps with Joy and Sinks. Sinks as I've 'been away' for far, far too long.

Finally was able to bring my T@B up to its “summer pasture” on the Mogollon Rim. In the summer I generally just boondock on USFS land designated for dispersed camping. Altitude is typically 7000 feet or so resulting in comfortable nights with usually very starry skies.

Out to Blair Valley Dispersed, part of the Anza-Borrego State Park in the valleys east of San Diego and Julian, CA. Nice wide open space. No moon, and the skies are surprisingly dark for being so close to the big cities all around. Plenty of stars, satellites, and Milky Way to spot.

I was there from Wednesday afternoon, and saw only one other camper out there until Friday afternoon.
