Kettletown State Park is the closest, and a nice park for camping and recreation.

I camp at West Thompson Lake, CT every year. One of my faves. When are you thinking? https://www.recreation.gov/camping/campgrounds/233476

@Tundra57 I was answering @jkjenn question if there is a campground close to new Fairfield, kettle town is the closest, Thompson is on the other side of the state. 😊

Isn't Connecticut less than 100 miles wide? Of course driving time/distance is an entirely different matter.

We're up in Vermont - but getting to Connecticut is easy. Having a tab gathering would be fun.

This is getting interesting. So where and when becomes an important question to answer. I'm pretty easy. What about the rest of you? Perhaps the first decider would be when?

"The annual hydroplane boat races will take place June 26 - 28, 2020.  Noise from this event can easily be heard from all campsites." They release sites 6 months ahead. 11 have hookups. $15 without, $30 with. It's near Thompson Raceway if anyone is into that as well.

I think we should pick a quietish not too expensive easy in location for our first camp rather than a very busy full one. This makes it easier to decide later this year.
Maybe something middle to all interested parties. So far we have Thompson Raceway and kettletown state park, others are  lone oak,  lake waramug, Macedonia Brook.
Any other offers. There is a site near me in Bantam CT but it is pretty small and a bit expensive. I know there are many more. Most sites open may-june.
    Thoughts?
Maybe if we all sound out the town we live in or near we can locate the nearest site to be suitable for all.
I'd like to take a shot at Vermont too.
