Haven't hugged the grandkids since Presidents Day, which is hard. Teach "calendar" each morning to the kindergarten grandson via video (once a teacher, always a teacher). We get to be "mystery guests" which means drive into their driveway, we stay in car, they stay on porch. They know it is because of "the sickness", but being almost 3 and almost 6 rules like that are needed. Snuck in their backyard and buried a treasure box of chocolate gold coins that they had to follow a treasure map to find... stapled pictures of Super Heroes onto telephone poles in their neighborhood for them to try to find when they go out for walks... planning Star Wars activities for this week (May the 4th) ... trying to find things to help keep them occupied without being able to take them and give their parents (Jr High and High school math teachers) a break. Amazing what you can do to keep your mind off camping!!!!
Got a grant for our church to make 40 bags or groceries available to food insecure families each week for 7 weeks. Between picking up cases of food ordered from our local Fred Meyer (Kroeger) and organizing volunteers to get it into the hands of those in need, and do it safely with minimal contact with others has not left time to binge watch TV shows, which is fine by me. Keeping busy is how I cope.
DH built new bookshelves/entertainment center, and is making clips for health care workers to hook their elastic from their masks to so they can save their ears!
We are lucky enough to have our T@b in our garage. Today I washed all the bedding and cleaned the inside while DH working on our Solar system. Seriously thinking about camping in the driveway!!! Happy to live in Washington State where our governor shut us down early and most people are taking this seriously.
New motto is "Physically distant... socially close". We need to check in like this. Thanks!!!!
Be patient, live smart, and stay healthy!!!
