2021 320S Mod - Stool with Bed extension

This will help me sleep better by using one of the existing side cushions to add 12” x 18” of space at end of bed / between frig. for feet or head

used 1/2 “ birch plywood, 24 x 48 inch

made 1 1/2 inch legs and left room to adjust A/C vent by the frig

velcro strips to keep cushion in place

side benefits ... DW Resmed CPap machine can fit underneath ; can still squeeze into the bathroom and into the frig; can sit on stool and do meal prep over the dometic stove top.

Where do you put it for travel? I have same trailer, I'm 6 foot 4, guess i a  just used to my feet hanging over a bed, LOL
But i want to make one

It's too bad the venting for the elwell is there...now that there is no door a hinged shelf would have been awesome to use for the footrest/ bed support

Just made it so haven’t packed it for travel yet. Probably put upside down in TV with the Cpap carrying case and books wedged in. Alternatively maybe the dinette area of the camper .  At 6’4” you need SOMETHING

@ontheroad Yes a hinges shelf would have been nice, one less thing to lug around.

Found this and thought that the passenger side under bench area with the little door as you enter the Tab may accommodate this idea for a bed extension.  Think it could work?

Excellent work, the stain looks like you got the match, and the velcro on top is brilliant.  What are your finished dimensions for the stool?

@zanth Here are the dimensions in inches:

top                 12.375 x  18.5
height            15.5 (.5 top / 14.75 legs / .25 small furniture sliding pads)
leg assembly 12.5 long and 10.25 wide, off centered to allow for 4 inches of A/C vent

@Sharon_is_SAM  That is a nice mod to the CS-S. Do you know what model year had that pullout drawer ? I’m new to T@b.

The drawer went away with the 2021 model.  As far as I know, all the Pleasant Valley made TaBs (2010 or 2011 models forward) had them.

I like what you’ve done, and the dimensions you included are helpful. Do you know what the width of the cushions in the 2021 320 S is? They look to be about 22” wide from your pictures.

@CAL 19 inches on the bottom and 22.5 at the top (if I remember right ... I am not with the camper again until Thu). The cushion I am using is one of the extra side cushions, with a square end and one angled end, from the dinette.

My bad - up to 2021 models had a door to access under the bench.  I think you could build some kind of drawer or even a hinged door to support a cushion.  (That picture is not a TaB.)

@Sharon_is_SAM No problem. Looking at this forum, it seems everything and anything can be modified to suit an individuals talents and needs. Very cool to see what owners can do. I envy the folks who can do all the electrical changes ... that skill was not passed down to me.

Since the door was removed, since the door was removed, you could use folding shelf brackets that lift up and lock and use the same size wooden extension as your footstool top. You could also remove two legs from your stool, have folding leg brackets on the remaining two legs so it would all fold neatly onto the end of the bench.  I can draw a rough picture if needed.

@mrdeepfryguy, I used these for a fold down shelf for my satellite receiver. They lock in place and are not wiggly. They’re $17.99/pair on Amazon (resizing took that info off the photo).  There are other sizes, also.

@ontheroad, they worked flawlessly!  They will go into my soon-to-be-born 2021 T@B S Boondock, as a fold down table under the TV. I have a curly cherry shelf I made and it is perfect for the fold down table.

She’s still a gleam in the eyes of the assembly line, @ontheroad😂. As my Mother used to say “Patience, Verna, Patience!”.

I still need to get the 400 to her new owners so they can continue spoiling her😉

@verna  Congrats on the new 320 coming your way !! I live 90 minutes from nuCamp factory and stopped by yesterday and picked up a Walker tent. Saw Elton from AllPro and talked to Creed also .... here is a pic ... so many adventures waiting to begin in their parking lot ...

@mrdeepfryguy...our dealer is expecting his next delivery mid August... we're really not planning on going anywhere..although a fall shakedown trip might happen in Ontario CAN.... we're not too far from Algonquin or Sandbanks Provincial Parks...we really hadn't planned on ordering till his usual November RV Show...but surprisingly he knows what we were planning on order...lol
