Well this whole discussion has made a few interesting twists and turns. And not one double entendre. But some great ideas to fix the problem.

After these four years of trialling the rare earth magnet solution, I can say it has been flawless. 
And I think the water pump runs a bit quieter because of the proximity to the magnets. (But only when the seat is up)... 
I'd avoid it if you have a pacemaker, however - at least don't sit down in that case.

We trained our nephew with Cheerios in the toilet...probably not the best with a cassette toilet...lol
