Propane Flame Indicator problem - Norcold N180.3

The fridge works on every mode - 12v, Electric and Propane.

The Flame Indicator on the face of the fridge doesn't work.  
You can hear the "poof" of the ignitor, the burner box get hot and the fridge cools.

We purchased and installed a new Flame Indicator. Tried to light the fridge.  Got the "poof" and a hot burner box but Flame Indicator did not move to "green", only showed a tiny movement in the "white" area.  When we switched to Electric mode the Flame Indicator shorted out.  (That was scary as it popped the GFI switch the trailer was plugged in.)

Then reinstalled the old, non working, Flame Indicator.  Everything works - except the Flame indicator.

We're at a loss.  Any suggestions as to what to look for?
