Rust prevention

Hi, I live on a sand spit that is at sea level and am very close to the water. I have noticed quite a bit of rust on my trailer jack and just a bit on the stabilizers. I assume being this close to salt water is speeding up the process. Does anyone have any recommendations for pretreatment of these areas and also what options I have for rust prevention? Thanks

@Kracken, I would suggest a good auto wax, like Meguiars.  Maybe wax that area on a regular basis, which is what I do.  Also, although I have not personally tried it, you might consider using "Boeshield T-9" for rust prevention:

I noticed a lot of rust on our frame after the first year we did some winter camping (road salt). I painted it with a "rust neutralizer" paint, sometimes called rust converter. Here: https://gemplers.com/products/gemplers-rust-converter-1-qt


It's very thin liquid, easy to apply, even with a rag, but they do recommend an over-coat of something tougher, which I didn't do. It's held up really well for 4 years or so.

Someday I'll probably over-coat it...
