Suggestions For a Winter Snowbird Camping Trip

A friend of mine is suggesting that we go to Quartzsite this January. They want to go to the RV Show and Gem Show... because we have comorbidities, we don’t think it’s a good idea to go to Quartzsite because of the crowded conditions. However, we would like to take a trip in January someplace warmer than our homebase in Denver Colorado. Does anybody have some suggestions? Thanks,

20 miles south of Quartzsite on US95 is the entrance to the Kofa NWR. Lots of boondocking opportunities and huge wide open spaces along Palm Canyon Drive. If you can handle a couple of days "off the grid", it certainly is a decent space to avoid the crowds at Quartzsite. This was December, 2017, admittedly before the Show, but Quartzsite was hopping and Kofa mostly empty.
