Stupid question about SMEV stove

The owner's manual says that the SMEV stove has an electronic ignition. The stove itself has what looks like a "lightning bolt" on the knobs, but the sticker on the glass cover plate says you must apply an external flame to light it.

I would appreciate some clarity on the proper technique for this stove. Thanks!

I know it works with matches... check. Put some in an old pill bottle, with a piece of striker cut off the box. Still would like to know if... IF there's an e start feature I'm missing.

We have to use a match to light our stove.

My guess is that the symbol that you interpret as a "ligntning bolt" is just the knob setting for lighting the burner with an external flame. We have a different stove (but similar) in our T@B and we use one of the extended reach fireplace lighters.

Xpadrex -- My stove is like yours and it does need an external flame to be applied.  It does have the lightning bolt, but I agree that Neil that the symbol is just the knob setting.  I tried it out last weekend when I was camping.
