Repurposing FM/AM Exterior Antenna on 400

I have very little knowledge when it comes to OTA signals and what antennas might work with which signals. We'll never use the AM/FM radio function and seeing as there's a nice antenna for it already on the side of the trailer, could that antenna somehow be connected to the interior coax connected to the "cable" port in the nautilus (basically just disconnect it from the nautilus and connect it to the AM/FM antenna)? I realize it's not powered or anything but I bet you could pick up local HDTV stations on it. I've used a cheap coax antenna for our home and it was able to pick up quite a few channels.
Does this idea sound ludicrous?
