Backup camera mounting

Hello all-- I got an aftermarket backup camera & need to mount it somehow in my truck.  I have tried the magnetic phone mount with the sticky pads that comes with it.  Then  tried 3M VHB tape.  Both have fallen off.  Would like to keep from using a windshield mount as you have the cords dangling around.  Any suggestions for a sticky tape that can withstand the heat in a vehicle or???

If you're talking about mounting a video screen or cellphone on the dashboard, I've been most happy with a beanbag type mount that has enough weight to just sit on the dash & hold the screen/cellphone.

@BrianZ. Yes it's a video screen that came with the camera.  Do you leave it sitting on the dash all the time?  I'll check those out. Thank you

@lkc001, no, when not in use, I set it on the floor.

@lkc001, Our beanbag mount is from an old garmin GPS unit, but vendors still sell stuff that fits it.  I replaced the Garmin screen holder with an adapter that provides a standard 1/4x20 screw mount, then added a couple more adapters to fit my backup camera's 7" screen..

We used this mount that fits into a cup holder. Adjustable every which way and easy to monitor in and remove if necessary. We had previously used a bean bag set up but found we liked this better. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07GB64H18
