Quartzsite is a big "place" for a couple of months. If you search for LTVA's near Quartzsite (Long Term Vehicle Areas) there should be plenty of info. If you are just "visiting" the area for a couple of days, the area south of Quartzsite, called the Kofa National Wildlife Refuge, has plenty of wide open boondocking opportunities. I've only been to Kofa a couple of times in late November and mid-December, but it was fairly wide open. It is about 20 mile south of Quartzsite.
The Forums have lots of Quartzsite references. I think Verna has wintered over.
Thanks, pthomas745. Kofa is the first place I have considered but I would like a backup. I have been in quite a few campgrounds so far many without hookups so that is not an issue. But the whole security issue gives me pause. I am only planning on two nights there; in case we do not like it. Also being new to this I have gotten used to the whole reserve months in advance having an itinerary and its nice.
