Check the nuts on your pull-out step as I lost one during my recent drive out to SW New Mexico. This is a metric nut and bolt combination with a fiberglass bushing that fits over the bolt. They did not have any nuts inside the bags that you buy at Home Depot so I had to take a loose nut up to the cashier and had taken a photo of the bin item. I also used some blue Loctite on the threads and also squirted some on the other adjacent bolt threads on the step. I also purchased some stainless round washers and some stainless locknuts as these bolts are stainless steel. In the future I will probably install some stainless fiberglass locknuts on all of the step bolts and this should remedy the problem entirely. I’m attaching a photo of the nut size for future reference and also a photo I pirated from another thread here on the forum just for reference purposes.

They should be doing this at the factory. You cant use just a nut and lock washer to attach moving pieces together and expect them not to loosen. Someone will get hurt when the step gives.
