Loose Nuts on Pull-Out Step

Check the nuts on your pull-out step as I lost one during my recent drive out to SW New Mexico. This is a metric nut and bolt combination with a fiberglass bushing that fits over the bolt. They did not have any nuts inside the bags that you buy at Home Depot so I had to take a loose nut up to the cashier and had taken a photo of the bin item. I also used some blue Loctite on the threads and also squirted some on the other adjacent bolt threads on the step. I also purchased some stainless round washers and some stainless locknuts as these bolts are stainless steel. In the future I will probably install some stainless fiberglass locknuts on all of the step bolts and this should remedy the problem entirely. I’m attaching a photo of the nut size for future reference and also a photo I pirated from another thread here on the forum just for reference purposes.

We lost two of them last summer. We replaced all of them with nylon locking nuts so we don’t have to deal with it again.2021 T@B 400 BD

Saw other posts on loose nuts and checked my 2021 T@B 320S BD... loose. Replaced all with stainless bolts and lock nuts.
They should be doing this at the factory. You cant use just a nut and lock washer to attach moving pieces together and expect them not to loosen. Someone will get hurt when the step gives.2021 T@B 320 S Boondock

Is this the most likely cause of a soft mushy feeling on one side of the step?2013 MAXX T@B towed by a 2015 Volvo S60 5 CYL AWD Sedan

Most likely. Easy to get underneath and check.
