What keeps the seal tight against the bowl?
Is there another seal inside the flap?

It should not leak if the cassette is fully seated.  What happened to me and others here is there is a white plastic cover over a small molded-in storage box under the cassette, when you pull the cassette out.  The cover is not on the cassette itself, but under the cassette in the compartment it slides into.

See how far you can throw that white plastic cover towards the garbage can, and reinstall your cassette. That cover was keeping our cassette from fully seating, and it leaked.  Now all is well, the cassette seats properly every time.
