Howdy, everybody. I just replaced my Apex PVC hose with a Water Right hose. a 2016 study that tested for a number of different toxic substances found that polyethylene hoses--rather than the more common PVC (polyvinylchloride)--are much less toxic. In particular, Water Right is a company that has specifically focused on making completely non-toxic hoses, including reformulating their fittings after that test showed a small amount of lead leaching from the connectors. These hoses are made in the USA, too. Got mine today, best price was on Amazon (but from the company), $37 for a 25' hose. Very light weight, very flexible and compact, and high quality connectors.
