Tab 400, 2022 vs 2023

Besides the redesigned bathroom and dinette to accommodate for the new bunk system. Any other changes?

Btw. I got dimensions for the bunk in 2023. Upper: 16x66 bottom: 30x66. In the 2022 the dinette made into a 30x74.

So, the 2023 loses 6" of bed length.

16”x66” sounds more like a long shelf than an upper bunk.

I believe those are the only major changes made to the 2023.  The 2022 does come with the dual 6v batteries where as the 2023 comes with a single lithium battery standard.  But the nice thing about the 2022 is that even though it has dual 6v, which we really like, it has been upgraded with a converter that can handle a lithium battery should you choose to install one at a later date. I've been in both the 2023 and the 2022, our local dealer has several of both model years, and while I prefer the older style over the newer one it really is just personal preference.

I do like the new bathroom sink in the 2023, but, yes, that bunk is absurd!

@bergger that is helpful to know about the battery situation. My local dealer is charging the same for the 2022 as he is for the 2023, so I wanted to weigh the pros and cons.

Our local dealer has the 2022 only about $800 less than the 2023.  It was nice to be able to see a 2022 right next to a 2023, jump between them to see how each felt space wise and comfort wise.  The only think I liked better in the 2023 was the corner sink.  But I don't like the dinette with the lagun table and I don't like the slightly smaller bathroom.  Missing that 4-5" and with the way they had the toilet angled made it really tight to sit down on it. If I could just have the corner sink in my 2021 it'd be just about perfect.

The bunk allows adding another small child (or grandchild), or a place for the little family to stash some stuff at night.  For many, a good thing, especially with the greatly improved bath sink.

@bergger my understanding is that the 2022 is when they switched to the solid piece composite floor? Can you confirm?

Yes @CloudedLeopard12, 2022 is the year they switched to the Transcore composite floor.  If you don't like the new dinette in the 2023 then you may want to grab a 2022 while you can still get a new one.  With the 2022 you get the composite floor, the old style dinette, and the slightly larger bathroom, albeit with the folding sink.  But after being in both I'd rather have the folding sink in the larger bathroom than the corner sink in the smaller bathroom.   But I'm 6'2" so that extra 4" of space and the placement of the toilet in the old bathroom makes a big difference.  If your shorter it may not?

Anecdotally it seems like more people dislike the new bunk setup. I wonder if this will be something Nucamp keeps for 2024? I think the corner sink for the bathroom was the way to go though.

Thanks everyone. We are both 5'8", so the smaller bathroom felt easy for us, and made the dining easier to fit 2 people on that side comfortably. We are going to go ahead and pick up the 2023 next Friday!

@manyman297 I think at the very least they will figure out how to improve the bunk system in 2024. We have 2 small kids, the bunks will work well for a while. I also have a pretty cool mod in mind for that top bunk.

If we were just a couple, I would probably go with the 2022.

It will be interesting to hear from someone who actually has a 2023 Tab 400 comment on the bunk system and bath.  Kindly let us know your impressions when as you use it.
