2022 320S shower head

Seems like when shower head is removed from sink when showering water can enter compartment under sink around shower hose as this is not a water tight connection.  Is this an issue?  How to seal it?  thought about replacing shower head and hose with a hose connector sealed to faucet and then connect shower hose and shower head that is permanently exposed.  Would eliminate any chance of leaks.

Long story but I picked up a 2022 for an great price.  Trying to decide which one to keep.
