My husband banged the French press against the counter top and put a divot in our Tab 400 counter top. Does any one have any experience in repairing the indentation/small crack? I am just glad I am not the one who did the damage!
Unfortunately the top is a formica/Wilsonart type of laminate. From my knowledge I don't believe there is much you can do. You could try using one of those glue-type dent pullers on amazon but you risk causing more damage. But my guess is it wouldn't do much because the laminate is glued to the MDF underneath.
Post a pic. I wonder if concealing it would be a better option (touch up paint).
You might consider trying Marine Tex epoxy putty. Just mix the entire jar so the ratios are right, fill the area with just enough to fill the void, cut a piece of plastic bag and place on top from one side to flatten the area with no trapped bubbles, and place something heavy and flat on the plastic while it cures. It probably won't be an exact match, but it should look better. The key is putting just the right amount so it only fills the void.
I dropped my Yeti coffee cup on my 400's countertop leaving a 1/2 inch gash where it hit. I purchased a repair kit, available on Amazon and, while slightly visible if you look closely under certain light, pretty much hides the damage- I can see it but that's because I know it's there.
