temperature adjustment on kitchen faucet

I recently purchased a used TAB 400 and am baffled by the kitchen faucet...how does one adjust the temp independent of the water flow.  And the height makes it difficult to actually use.  Can't afford a functional replacement.

    yes, although the kitchen lever only moves vertically, which only controls on/off.  The bathroom is perfect, has both controls and also affords way more room between sink and faucet.  I would love to switch them but not sure it can be done and certainly I, myself, would not try.

    The kitchen one should definitely go both directions.
