Changed out the stock faucet

Swapped out the standard faucet in our '23 Tab 400. This new faucet provides so much more room for larger items under the faucet and has a nice adjustable stream.

Nice ! Which faucet did you use and how tall is its base ? I have a "Sofitel" 320 that has a somewhat similar but square glass covered sink and the standard faucet has only two positions: Useless and water everywhere .... :)

I’ve been considering changing my kitchen faucet too.  I agree with Grumpy…. it’s not nuCamp’s proudest moment.  I’m in a 2020 320s Boondock Edge.
    Any suggestions?

This is the faucet we used for our '21 Tab 320:

This was a huge improvement over the stock faucet.

Just received the same faucet for my 2021 T@B 400. The design of this faucet looks perfect for our 400s. Including the fact that when you shut the lid, it actually would turn the water off, instead of on, as with the factory faucet!!

What did you use to adapt the faucet supply line to the T@Bs water lines?

Thanks for posting this...It is a much better faucet design than the factory one or the Dometic AC542 that I had already "upgraded" to. The AC542 costs $250 and is a marginal fit for our sinks.

1/2 to 3/8 water hose adapter. Something like this should work:

Here's what I used. You'll never confuse me with a real plumber. =)

    Brass 1/2" barb x 1/2" MIP

    Brass Adapter 3/8" Compression x 1/2" FIP

edit to add that 320 information doesn't belong in this thread. sorry for any confusion ... :s

@AnOldUR  On the 400s they have a valve with a 1/2 threads on the water lines coming to the sink. Only the 1/2 to 3/8 adapter is necessary to make it work.

@elbolillo I am so needing to upgrade our faucet and you have a fantastic solution. I am not clear if my 2019 model sink is the same as to connections, due to so many variations in the model. Here are my supply connections and sink. Is this the same as yours so the faucet upgrade will work?

I'm not who you asked, but YES, that is the same sink and original faucet that I have in my 2021 T@B 400, and the replacement faucet fits great!

Thank you. I found these yesterday when I was looking at possible adapter solutions, but wasn't sure of the correct size required.
Nice and easy install for the new faucet.
I've been looking for a replacement with more height that would fit under the glass cover almost since I got my T@B, so was really thrilled to see your post.

@qhumberd I did this upgrade in my 2018 400 with the same sink you have.  The issue I ran into was that the hole for the tap in the sink was off-center (unlike the current sink). That meant that once the tap was installed the hinges on the glass top hit the faucet spout and wouldn’t close properly.  I suggest checking to make sure your sink doesn’t have the slightly off-centre faucet hole before doing the change. That 1/2” off-set caused me to utter a string of profanities.

Thanks for that @XenanMe, as I had a 1/4 inch issue when I replaced our bathroom fan with what I thought would fit. It appears that my sink ( build date 10/18) has the faucet hole in the center, but I’ll double check that

I think you should be all good...Here is a link to the model of sink (VA7306) with the faucet centered on the sink.

You'll also need to adapt the water supply lines provided with the faucet to the 1/2" water fittings from the T@B.
This or something like it should do the trick:

    Wow thanks,

BTW the ad copy reads like no human actually wrote it. This part was great:

As the name implies, the Round Sink is round. That’s the genius of Dometic. Round objects have fewer corners than square, rectangular, or rhomboid ones. That makes them easier to clean. That’s the reason mathematicians invented the circle and it’s the reason the Round Sink is round.

i wasn’t sure if the new folding faucet came with supply lines, but if it does this should be an easy job and not too hard. We’ve been fighting the wonky spray on the old sink for too long.

    Thanks as always

It sounds like they used ChatGPT AI to write all of the product descriptions. A little bit over the top. 😃

Also, I looked at my notes and my sink was model 7307.  Possibly made on a Friday which would explain the offset.

@XenanMe We also have a 2018 400 with the offset faucet hole. Were you able to make the faucet work with the offset?  If so, could you please give some details?

I think the main benefit of the very early sinks is their deeper bowls.

    Thanks…Gary

@gande I agree that the deeper sink is marvellous. I read the specs on the sink and wonder if the hole is supposed to be offset or if mine was an error.  The specs don’t mention an offset.  Anyway, I did get it to work eventually by installing the faucet at an angle and grinding the hing bolt (plastic) down to reduce the size at bit.  Then I added rubber bumpers around the sink rim so glass top would sit a bit higher.  Not perfect but I can’t see a difference. And the new faucet is much, much better. It was just really stressful when I realized the new faucet created an issue and putting the old faucet back in wasn’t an option because it was destroyed to remove it.

@XenanMe Thanks for the information. Seems like you made it work. Do you have any pictures of the finished installation?  I’m interested in seeing how much of an angle you needed for the faucet to clear the hinges and the finished appearance with the bumpers for the sink.

    Thank you!

This faucet is sooo much better than the original and the replacement all metal folding Dometic one.
It is such a great design and is just so much easier to use and much more functional in every way.
